The Board of Directors of the Association of Academic Radiology (AAR) is proud to announce that Priscilla J. Slanetz, MD, MPH will become the next Editor-in-Chief of Academic Radiology, the official journal of the society. She will begin her tenure as Editor on September 1, 2025.
Dr. Slanetz is a Professor of Radiology at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine as well as a practicing breast radiologist at Boston Medical Center.
Dr. Slanetz’s clinical research interests lie in healthcare disparities, evaluation of imaging technologies in breast cancer detection, and artificial intelligence. Her educational interests focus on curricular development and assessment. To date, she has over 280 publications and has given over 150 regional and national presentations.
As a Past President of the Massachusetts Radiological Society and the Association of Academic Radiology, and current Chair of the Commission on Publications and Lifelong Learning (CoPLL) for the American College of Radiology, Dr. Slanetz is a passionate volunteer with expansive experience in the clinical practice of radiology, radiology research, and medical education. The society is excited for the future of Academic Radiology under the Editorial leadership of Dr. Slanetz.
AAR would also like to offer a huge thank you and a heartfelt congratulations and good luck to Dr. N. Reed Dunnick, most recent editor of Academic Radiology. Over the past nine years, Dr. Dunnick has worked tirelessly to provide quality content in original reports of clinical and laboratory investigations in diagnostic imaging, the diagnostic use of radioactive isotopes, computed tomography, positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, digital subtraction angiography, image-guided interventions and related techniques.
