Radiology Course Site Links

Listed below are a number of websites that may be of particular interest to medical student educators in radiology:

Case Oriented Radiology Education (CORE) This is a MED-U module made available by subscription to any medical school (130 med schools currently subscribe to other Med-U modules). CORE currently includes 15 interactive virtual patient cases which encompass the learning objectives of the AMSER National Medical Student Radiology Curriculum.  CORE cases teach radiology in a case-based approach that mimics clinical practice.  Cases utlilze the American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria to teach an evidence-based approach to imaging and link to the excellent relevant interactive Radiology resources on the web.  Five demo cases can be found here.

These cases can be used as a stand-alone Radiology course during a Radiology clerkship or elective or can be incorporated into the appropriate clinical clerkships.  For example, the Women's Imaging cases can be taken during the OBGYN clerkship, the Neuroimaging case during the Neurology clerkship, thus teaching imaging at a time students can apply the new knowledge.

RSNA Clerkship Companion The Clerkship Companion (developed by Judith Amorosa, MD) is a series for case based learning modules that integrate radiology and clinical medicine.  They are designed to be used during clinical clerkships in medicine, surgery, OBGYN and pediatrics.  Each case includes clinical presentations, pathophysiology, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology and evidence based medicine references as well as a pre and post test.  The Clerkship Companion is accessed for free by RSNA members.  Students are eligible for free membership in RSNA.
