AMSER Funds and Prizes

AMSER supports two funds:

  • The Hank Goldberg Prize
Henry Goldberg, MD, was an internationally-recognized authority in abdominal and gastrointestinal radiology and longtime advocate and teacher of students at all levels in radiology. He was also a founding member of AMSER. The AMSER Henry Goldberg Medical Student Award (supported by this fund) may be presented annually at the AUR Annual Meeting to a medical student(s) who submits an outstanding abstract for a paper, poster, or electronic exhibit. Contributions to this fund will honor Dr. Goldberg’s memory and acknowledge medical student educational efforts.

  • The Hudson (Hooser) Foundation Fund
Wally Hooser, MD, at UT-Southwestern, is President Emeritus of the M.R. and Evelyn Hudson Foundation (his family's foundation), and has pledged $20,000 as a gift to support national medical student education endeavors. He has also challenged AMSER members to support the effort by also contributing to the education endowment. AMSER’s goal is to march the $20,000 gift. Two of the projects which we plan to support by the endowment will be (1) development of a national quiz bank of radiology questions which can possibly be used in radiology courses (this is underway) and (2) continued development and update of the AMSER national radiology curriculum for medical students.

To contribute to either of these funds, please download one of the following forms and submit to the AUR with your check.
